if you have questions.
Please come to a meeting and meet the Troop. Our Scouts attend many different schools so potential Scouts may see a familiar face. The schools attended by our Scouts include most of the area schools: Van Wyck MS, St. Columba, Unionvale MS, Arlington MS, John Jay HS, Ketchem HS, Lourdes, and Arlington HS. They came from all of the elementary schools feeding those middle and high schools. While some of the Scouts live in Hopewell Junction others live in the surrounding towns: Poughkeepsie, LaGrangeville, Beekman, Poughquag, Fishkill, Wappingers, Stormville, Holmes, and Pleasant Valley.
Below are documents intended for boys and parents to learn more about what Troop 40 offers. Please download to view or print them.

2009-2010 Troop 40 Calendar
This document contains our calendar for the entire year. Troop 40 plans and distributes the calendar for the year (September through June + summer camp) each August so Scouts will know the dates of all the activities well in advance. While there are some annual events the activities do change each year. The events are decided on by the Scouts with leadership positions but any Scout can suggest an activity.

Event Information Sheets
All the information about each overnight or day trip is sent out in advance of the signup period. The intent of the documents is to answer all the questions parents or Scouts might have. The information sheet also includes the costs and permission slip required for signups so that Scouts can Be Prepared to signup when they come to a meeting. The sample includes the information sheet for two events. One trip was more expensive than the other because it was a much further distance and there were admission fees included. We try to keep the costs as low as possible. The information sheets are posted on the website shortly after they are emailed.
